Mary Ann Gaither - Mother of Mary Ann Campbell Dobbs 3G Grandmother of Peggy Donegan Snipes 1822 Cannon County - September 18, 1849 She was the daughter of Edward and Mary Gaither. She married Thomas Edward Campbell on January 21, 1840 in Cannon County, Tennessee. They had the following children: Mary Ann, Mahaly, John W. & Amos D. & Bison (also died in November 1850 from flux.) She died on November 18, 1849. She was listed on the 1850 U.S. Mortality Records as having died after having flux for 21 days at about 27 years old. |

The 1850 United States Federal Census shows Edward living in District 1 Nichols, Cannon County, Tennessee. The census states that he was born in Maryland; Mary was born in North Carolina. His property value is listed at $500 and he is farming. Daniel Lavis and Amos F. Gartner are also listed as residing with the Gaithers. Both Daniel and Amos are listed as farmers from Tennessee.

He married Rachel Jacob (1740-1783) in 1768 in Anne Arundel, Maryland. Their children were: John, Rachel, Basil, Zachariah, Jeremiah, Behle, Rezin & Edward. The Maryland Census of 1760 shows him living in Prince George Township in the Price George County of Maryland. |

He died on May 21, 1788 in Leftout, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
